Semrush app
A paid app in the Semrush App Center – small, live and profitable.

Context
The Semrush App Center lets independent developers sell focused tools to Semrush’s customers. A small, well-defined problem and an existing marketplace: a good way to test whether something is worth paying for.
Task & role
I built and run the app alone – from product idea to billing integration and support.
Architecture
The app runs inside the Semrush interface and uses the platform’s authentication and billing. Everything else is deliberately small, so that running it takes little time.
Decisions & trade-offs
- A marketplace instead of my own sales. Semrush takes a share; in return there is no customer acquisition to do.
- Narrow scope. The app does one thing; feature requests outside it are declined.
Outcome
Live and profitable. Small, but proof that the products I build find people who pay for them.
